Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Algoright AI, including the browser extension and the web dashboard at algoright-ai.vercel.app ("the Service"). By installing the extension or creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Algoright

You must be at least 13 years old to use Algoright. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at algorightai@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the Service for lawful, personal productivity purposes. You may not:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the extension
  • Use the Service to harass, harm, or discriminate against others
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent any rate limits or access controls

4. Subscriptions and billing

Free accounts are provided at no cost. Paid plans (Pro and Premium) are billed monthly. Prices are shown in USD at the time of purchase. You may cancel at any time and your plan will remain active until the end of the current billing period. We do not issue partial refunds.

5. Service availability

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" without any uptime guarantee. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. We will notify users of material changes by email or in-app notice.

6. Intellectual property

All content, design, and code within the Service is owned by Algoright AI. You retain full ownership of any data you input. Algoright AI does not claim ownership over your browsing behaviour or personal settings.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Algoright AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Algoright AI is registered. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, then binding arbitration if necessary.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Algoright AI collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

What we collect

  • Account information — your email address and name, collected via Clerk when you sign up. This is used to manage your subscription and sync your settings across devices.
  • Video titles — when AI filtering is active, video titles from the current page are sent to our server and then to an AI provider (Groq, with Google Gemini as a fallback) to be classified into a content category (e.g. Tech, Gaming, News). We do not send URLs, watch history, or personal identifiers.
  • Focus session data — your filter settings, focus sessions, and filtered-video counts are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.sync and synced across your Chrome profile. This data is not stored on our servers.
  • Usage analytics — basic, anonymized usage events (e.g. plan activated, extension installed) may be collected to help us improve the product. No personal data is included.

What we do not collect

  • Your browsing history
  • Video URLs or watch duration
  • The content of videos you watch
  • Any information from sites other than YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X (Twitter)

How we use your data

  • To authenticate you and manage your subscription
  • To classify video content using AI so your filters work correctly
  • To sync your filter settings across your devices
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, plan receipts)

Third-party services

We use the following third parties to operate the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Groq & Google Gemini — AI content classification (video titles only)
  • Vercel — hosting the web dashboard and API

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

Data retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing algorightai@gmail.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at algorightai@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Here is exactly what Algoright AI uses:

Essential cookies

We use session cookies provided by Clerk to keep you logged in to the dashboard. These cookies are strictly necessary — without them the Service cannot function. They expire when you sign out or close your browser session.

What we do not use

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Third-party tracking pixels
  • Analytics cookies that identify you personally (e.g. Google Analytics with personal identifiers)

Managing cookies

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in to your Algoright account.
